reclaiming Indigenous ecologies of love

Beneath the vast skies of Albuquerque, on the lands of the Tamaya people of Santa Ana Pueblo and the wider Pueblo nations, the fifth International Network of Indigenous Health Knowledge and Development (INIHKD) Reclaiming Indigenous Ecologies of Love (RIEL) 2025 conference unfolded—a gathering shaped by the enduring presence and wisdom of the region’s original peoples. In this space of celebration and healing, te rōpū Māori joined Indigenous relatives from across the globe, presenting the Tīpuna Project. Our workshop became a living offering: the haunting sounds of taonga puoro mingled with poetry and reflection, inviting spirit, creativity, waiata and ancestral memory into the room. Together, we honoured resilience, culture, and the living knowledge systems that continue to shape our collective futures.
